Angel
BOYS
There is a very special joy that boys bring to life. Unfortunately, they are often the last ones to be chosen for adoption. We so hope you will find YOUR new son right here at the end of Reece's Rainbow.

Aleksey Boy, Born March 4, 2005 SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!! This happy, precious little boy was born with spina bifida. He has brown hair and bright blue eyes. One of our adoptive families visited with him in March of 2008, and describes him as " having a personality that will make you wrapped around his finger in no time. He was such a bright little boy, he appears to be cognitively very aware and able. He is a bright and sweet little boy and will be a joy to any family." Another of our adoptive
families visited with Aleksey (Alosha is his nickname) in July of 2008,
and this is what they have to say of him: "He is an absolute sweetie
pie. Out of all the children there, I would have chosen him, hands down if
we were able to adopt another child at this time. He has such a sweet
demeanor and his smile could be seen across the playground. It is almost as
if he was flirting with me, the way we kept exchanging smiles and glances.
I can tell that he has so much potential. He is able to pull himself up to
a standing position and he can walk along the playpen railing if he can hold
onto it. He can follow along in little games and he appears to catch on to
things very quickly. When I took a picture of him and then showed it to
him, he smiled and asked for more in Russian. I continued to take pictures
of him and I could tell it made his day to have the attention. I bet he can
live a near normal life if he just had a family to give him the love and
attention that every child deserves. I hope that he finds a family soon or
I might just have to go back and get him myself!!" We do have additional photos, including one of his spine which you could share with a surgeon to inquire about correcting it for him. Many children with special needs have been adopted from this well-taken-care-of orphanage, where the director truly cares about the children and desperately wants them to find families instead of not surviving in the mental institution. Aleksey is 3 now, so he is the perfect age to bring home and benefit from therapy and a loving family environment. Won't you be the one to give him the life he deserves?

Daniel Boy, Born April 17, 2003 SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!! Daniel is a sweet little boy with brown hair and hazel eyes. He is almost 5 years old. He was born with what is called "epidermolysis bullosa". From www.webmd.com, epidermolysis bullosa (EB) refers to a group of rare, inherited skin diseases characterized by recurring painful blisters and open sores, often in response to minor trauma, as a result of the unusually fragile nature of the skin. There are three major forms: epidermolysisbullosasimplex (EB simplex), the most common; dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB), and junctional epidermolysis bullosa (JEB). Despite his minor speech delays, his quite a smart little boy and is a favorite among the caregivers. He is able to walk and eat by himself, he can dress independently, understands when he is addressed by caretakers, performs simple tasks/duties, likes to repeat/copy dancing moves during musical classes, and likes to play with toys.

Dane Boy, Born November 4, 2006 Eastern Europe This darling little boy is waiting for his forever family!! He is physically healthy, but is considered significantly delayed. He has brown hair and deep, soulful eyes. He is sitting without support, but not standing yet. His speech is not well- developed yet...he makes only baby sounds at this time. He doesn’t show interest for his surroundings and seems to have a poor reaction to any kind of stimulation. He doesn’t make a lot of eye to eye contact. He slowly takes a toy given to him, but throws it away after short period of time. He is eating from spoon, but only blended food with help of the nurse. Not potty trained yet. Dane was born to an alcoholic mother, so it is highly probable that he struggles with the challenges from FAS and that prenatal exposure. His father is also an alcoholic, and both of them most likely struggle with FAS themselves. (both are listed as delayed). The only medical complications he seems to have are: mild asymmetry of the lateral ventricles/in the physiological limits/with several small cysts of the chorioid plexus. He was also living with his parents for the first several months of life, when Social Services found him alone and neglected and finally took him. Little Dane has been through so much pain and abuse and neglect in his very short life, but it isn't too late to teach him what life with a loving mother and family should be.
There is no "court"...only a beautiful "adoption ceremony". Orphanage donations are not required. Short, simple dossier, very short wait for travel once your dossier is submitted. Srecko Boy, Born January 29, 2003 Eastern Europe Srecko is a 5 year old little boy with brown hair and eyes. He is moderately mentally delayed. He has spastic weakness of the right side of his body. He is very darling boy, with a very good nature. He can walk without support. He can also run, but only on the flat surfaces. Physical therapy can help him overcome this challenge. His speech is very delayed. He tries to imitate his peers, but according to his abilities. He has good emotional potentials and loves the contact and attention of adults. He is responsive to attention and loves to be held. He is receiving regular physical therapy and is working with a speech pathologist. Srecko deserves a loving family who can shower him with love and get him the therapy and education he needs to realize his true potential. From our facilitator in April 2008: "This is a new photo of Srecko. He is really a very cute boy. He is receiving physical therapy every day, and is cooperating very well, although the exercises are very hard for him. He is calm and sweet boy. Despite of his physical disability he is following the children from the group very well. He is doing well in the backyard. He can do lots of things there by himself, like swinging, driving tricycle ...He loves to go for a walk, and he is doing this without any problems. He likes to play with ball, to play some instruments. He asks for the attention of the adult person, but is not demanding .He is playing with other children and gives and takes toys with them. He is in a very good mood during the day. He started to talk, he is working with his speech pathologist, and he started to express his needs by words. He understands speech partially. He is eating by himself, taking of his jacket, shoes, but is not still toilet trained. He is participating every game and is very happy when encouraged. Small things make him very happy." From one of our own adoptive
families who visited with Srecko in April of 2008: " I had the
opportunity to meet Srecko and observe him in a setting where he was playing
and again when he was eating and out in public on a field trip. Srecko is a
very happy and social child. He was excited to have our attention and was
very friendly. He is able to communicate his wants and needs and is
beginning to use sounds and words. He also used gestures to communicate. He
would benefit greatly from some basic sign language while he continues to
develop his speech. Physically, Srecko has delays with his right arm and
leg. We observed him walking, running and climbing on the play equipment. He
is doing all of these things independently. He walks with a slight limp and
up on his toes on his right foot. Otherwise, his gate and ability to walk
are very good. He is able to use his right arm, but it is clearly not as
strong as his left. However, with continued physical therapy and practice,
the possibilities are endless for this little boy. Cognitively, we observed
him following directions, responding to questions and interacting with
peers. It is very possible that his speech delay causes greater delay in his
ability to communicate what he knows. He enjoyed getting called over to
visit with us and happily answered questions and showed us things that he
could do. He is a delightful little boy and is just waiting for a mommy and
daddy of his very own!"

Luka Boy, Born October 10, 2003 Eastern Europe Little Luka is a handsome boy who is waiting for his family. He was born with a heart murmur and tetralogy of fallot. He also had strabismus. Luka has had surgeries to correct both of these conditions, but he is still considered delayed. Despite the photo of him on his stomach, he is able to walk and has been doing so since he was 2 1/2. He continues to receive physical therapy. From our facilitator:
" He is not speaking yet, but is vocalizing, smiling, sitting without
support, with hypotonic posture. Standing with support. He
is a very sweet boy, but significantly developmentally delayed. He
has dark hair and eyes, and white skin. He accepts every social
contact, although is passive and we don't think he is really socially
responsive. He has various stereotypic movements and some
autoaggressive behavior. The nurses from his room have impression
that he recognizes them, and rarely an authentic social contact.
Speech not developed/ da....da, ba...ba..../crying when unsatisfied.
Doesn't protest when interrupting contact. Has no social
interaction with other kids. Law attention, objects holding in his
hand passively, and throwing them. Eats good, nurses feed him with
a spoon. By night he knows to be awake for a long period and to be
upset without reasons. Not toilet trained yet. According to
his psychologist he needs to be stimulated very much, and needs a
family, and with socio-emotional stimulation could progress" He is a very active little boy and needs a family! Please give Luka the chance to grow up in a loving family, who can help his reach his full physical and cognitive potential!

Damon Boy, Born March 30, 2001 Eastern Europe What a darling little boy! Damon is 7 years old now. He struggled with mild neonatal asphyxiation at birth, and some respiratory distress. He is a very healthy, normal little boy, but he is considered delayed. Both of his parents are listed as "mentally delayed". From our facilitator: "Damon attends a kindergarten for special needs children. He is a tall, active boy with brown hair and brown eyes. He is calm and timid, but a very cheerful boy. He is very dear, and there are a lot of adult persons who love him very much. He is not a very demanding boy, and shows his happiness with small things that make him happy. He prefers individual contact, and is cooperating well. Most of the day he is playing alone, not trying to make contacts with other children. His motor abilities are good, although he always needs support when going downstairs and out. In the backyard he is playing freely, but is always looking for a person who took him there. When someone tries to compromise his playing he asks for help his preschool teacher calling her by her name. But he also knows to defend by himself. He started to talk/has several words. He likes to play with car toys and to draw. Together with his teacher he likes to look at the picture books. He is extremely happy when you tell him nice words and hug him. He is eating very well, independently. He likes sweets the best! He knows how to dress of his jacket and the shoes and knows his place at the table. Not toilet trained yet. He cries rarely, and is mostly in the good mood. We think he acts well in the group, and is constantly progressing. He makes contacts with the others easily and is responding to the stimulations of the others very well. He needs complex stimulation of the adequate developmental specialists, and above all love and stimulation of his forever family. He is considered by his psychologist as significantly developmentally delayed. His preschool teacher loves him very much, and thinks he will be a real joy any family who will adopt him."
There is no "court"...only a beautiful "adoption ceremony". Orphanage donations are not required. Short, simple dossier, very short wait for travel once your dossier is submitted. He was born with microcephaly ( a small head) as a result of FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome). He has brown hair and brown eyes, and so desperately wants to know life outside of this orphanage. He is a darling little boy, and the orphanage director would so love to find a family for him soon. He is able to stand, and can walk with help, but his speech is very delayed. With therapy and a loving family and educational opportunities, Kirill has so much potential in life! One of our own adoptive families visited with Kiril in March of 2008 and shared this: " This little one is very tiny but was responsive to the caretakers when they brought him in. Despite his small size he smiled and reacted as I would expect a typical toddler to react. I did not at the time know that he is nearing 5 years old. Eddie BOY, Eddie is a darling little boy with CP. Despite this, he is able to stand on his own and is doing really well. He desperately needs a loving family to provide him with therapy and education and LOVE, to help him achieve all he can be! Regrettably, this orphanage is one of the poorer ones, with very little outside aid and very little hope. All of the children are tiny and undernourished. These children are immediately transferred at 4, and have little chance of survival where they are sent. All of our waiting children need families, but these have a critical need. Jason has blonde hair, brown eyes, and a smile that can light up a room! But he does not have any legs past his thigh bones. From a family who visited with Jason this year: "Jason is very affectionate, he loved getting hugs. We put him in a swing and he had a lot of fun. When he was outside, he played in the grass and loved it! He interacted with us and his caregivers very well. He did not have trouble getting around...he scooted everywhere. Kiril # 3 Boy, Born January 20, 2004 SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!! This spunky little angel is ready to melt your heart! Kiril has blonde hair and hazel eyes, and a smile that can light up a room! He was born with cerebral palsy. One of our own adoptive families who visited with him in March 2008 said this about Kiril: " I’m a sucker for blondies and this little guy with his green-brown eyes is adorable! He smiled and wanted to interact with me when I came into the room despite the cries of his neighbor. His smiles were brief but heartwarming and then he was curious about what I was up to. Each time the camera flashed he rewarded it with a great grin! Except it was always right AFTER the flash so I couldn’t capture his sweet smile." These new pictures are from July 2008, when another of our adoptive families visited with him. Kiril is still not able to sit up on his own, and not able to walk. He is very much still a baby, but he is already 4 1/2. He is blessed to still be at the baby house, but he will remain bedridden for life if he gets transferred. PLEASE save Kirill from this fate!!
