Angel Girls

Everyone loves a precious little girl they can dress up in frilly dresses and hair bows.  They capture the hearts of every daddy in the world!

Here are some who are waiting for their family at the end of Reece's Rainbow.

Katrina

Girl

This darling little girl has spina bifida and club feet.  Doctors in her country feel strongly that she will be able to walk with braces and physical therapy after surgery.   She is an orphanage favorite, and has a smile that can light up a room!

Orphan care in this country is VERY good.   These children are well loved and well cared for and fed.  You can see it in their faces.    And this country has recently offered to drastically reduce it's initial country fees for these children!    Full medical info and social history available prior to commitment!

Girl, Born November 5, 2003

SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!

This gorgeous little girl is brimming with potential, and so badly wants to be your new daughter!    She  is in dire need of a family right now before she is sent away :(

Delaney was born with a heart defect.  Her medical records indicate:   Birth defect of heart and vessels (Tetrada Fallo) NK  ІІ А level.   After surgical status (2004 – surgery). Delay of psychological and speech development. Syndactyly  ІУ-У of left foot. Right side hemiparesis. Сhronical heart and vessel insufficiency  of second level.

She is a very lucky girl to have had heart surgery in her country!  God is truly watching over her!  She is very sweet little girl, active, and eats independently.  She is quite self sufficient and is able to dress herself with very little help.  She understands well when she is spoken to,  performs simple tasks, plays with toys properly, and likes to dance to music.  She will need some speech therapy once she gets home, and evaluation by a pediatric cardiologist, but she is a beautiful child and will be quite high functioning in the right environment!

Sophie

Girl, April 3, 2005

Eastern Europe

Sofia is a stunning little girl, with gorgeous light brown ringlets and striking blue eyes.   She is 3 years old, and in need of a loving, patient, experienced family to help her achieve all she can in life.    Her records indicate some cognitive delay, but her unofficial diagnosis is that of autism.   Interested families should expect behaviors and delays on this spectrum.

Sofia's family history is a difficult one...her mother is also delayed, and has not visited her at all.   She lacked stimulation in the early part of her life, which did not help.    She is currently living with a foster family and is doing very well there.

At this time, from our facilitator:   "She has stereotypic movements of a child with autism, turning her head to the right and left, and moving her body from one feet to another.  She can follow the group of children when playing, but is not really participating.  She has unexpected attacks of anger.  She is not talking, but is "babbling".  She is eating by
herself, and playing with toys.  We took her to the psychiatrist last month. She has had a very good nonverbal contact with her...she was drawing and vocalizing, but not a word yet.  EEG was normal.  The psychiatrist thinks that Sophia didn't get any
adequate stimulation, and is proposing the intensive treatment of the speech therapist and some other competent specialist for children.
Sophia has problems with her behavior.  She has some episodes  of behavior full of anger, autistic notes, known to be aggressive toward other children.  She is afraid of unknown situations, but is doing much better with familiar adult person.  Actually she is doing much better in a foster family than in the orphanage with lots of children.  She started to imitate some words heard from the others in the foster family, which is a big step.  She is not toiled trained yet.....

Other than that she is healthy.  She is under the regular control of  the childrens' psychiatrist and is taking medication to control her outbursts."

Sophie is a beautiful little girl with a great deal of potential.  She will need an experienced, patient family.  It is best for her to be the youngest in the family by many years.   A family interested in adopting Sophie must be able to show extensive experience with autism and local resources to help Sophie achieve her potential!

Angie

Girl, Born August 21, 2004

Angie is a darling little girl who unfortunately, has suffered at the hands of her biological mother :((

From our facilitator and her medical records:  " Angie was born 8/21/2004., admitted to the orphanage at the age of 2 months and 16 days.  She is the third child, from the third pregnancy.  Mother has been smoking during the whole pregnancy.  Angie was born in the maternity home. She was hospitalized in the Children clinic from 10/12/2004 till 11/5/2004.  It seems she was abused from her mother. She hurt her little girl all over her body.  So, the pediatrician found many hematomas and other lesions on her body.
After the hospitalization, she was moved to our orphanage in good general condition.  Because of the hypotonic posture and somewhat delayed psychomotor development she has been receiving intensive habilitation treatment.  Her development is in constant progression.  She is attending a kindergarten for SN children from 9/24/2007.  She is receiving a complex stimulating program according to her mental and motor abilities. She progressed much in her psychomotor and social development.  She is playing very well alone, but also with the other kids, she shares toys, shows emotions and is very happy when you tell her she did something well. Her attention is much better.  At this moment is very curious and ready to progress and learn.
She is so extremely sweet!
Angie's worst developmental issue is speech .  But she understands everything, and has a very good non verbal communication.   She started to talk, but has a very poor vocabulary.   She is a very cute girl, likes to be held, and will be a joy for a family who takes her.   She is toilet trained, but is often wet during the night.   She knows to dress and undress by herself although she needs some time for it. She's learning slower then her peers. She likes games and activities with her peers, but if she can't do something she quits quickly, she is playing as she is younger than her peers.  Her needs and desires expresses by gestures.  If is not successful she is getting unhappy, cries and asks for help from adults.  If you criticize her she reacts by smile trying to get the same answer.  She likes to go the kindergarten, going outside, driving by bus.  She likes to be dressed nicely, and is happy when we tell her she is pretty.  She is trying hard to make somebody paying attention on her. She likes music very much.  She is often trying to imitate the other kids and is happy when she manage to do something like them.  She is very cheerful girl, cooperative, but she must have clear limits.  She is charming everybody with her smile and sometimes is very hard to say "NO".  She needs a lot of attention, love and patience, but with adequate help she will progress in her development.
Ana is in the Central Register, and we can move quickly with her.  She is considered moderately developmentally delayed."

Please give this princess a family to call her own!  Many more photos available.

Renee

Girl, Born July 2007

Renee is a beautiful little girl who desperately needs a family and medical attention.  It is clear that she was born with severe hydrocephaly, which has not been treated with shunts or surgery to release the fluid/pressure on her brain.    We do not know if she has any other medical complications or conditions.   At this time we do not know how this has impacted her brain or physical capacities, or even if she will survive much longer.  But we could not turn away and leave her there, with no hope at all.

Please contact the agency if you are strongly considering baby Renee, to write a no-cost, no-obligation letter of request to the adoption officials in her country to gain this information!

Natalia

Girl, Born March 6, 2003

SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!

Natalia is a GORGEOUS little girl with brown hair and giant blue eyes.   She is almost 6 years old.   She is a very smart little girl, but her medical records show cognitive delay and some epileptic issues.   Her seizures are infrequent, and she does take medication to control it.   Her cognitive delay is likely a result of the seizures though.   She also has some strabismus (crossed/lazy eye), but this can be corrected in the US.  Natalia is able to speak, and when our missionary asked her if she would tell us something – she was trying to rehearse a little poem!  Natalia walks like a regular child.  She is a very nice little girl, happy and friendly and beautiful.   She will truly thrive in a family environment.

Natalia is already living in an institution, so we need a family for her right away!  She recently lost her adoptive family, so her situation is urgent!

Katya

Girl, Born December 29, 2004

SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!

Our dear little Katya is almost 4 years old already!   We are waiting on a current photo of her, and will update the profile as we can.  Katya had trauma at birth which caused a deformed head.   Her official diagnosis is Crouzon syndrome, also known as craniofacial dystosis.   The rest of her medical records include anomaly of development of brain, anomaly of lumbar fragment of spine; hip joints dysplasia; delay of speech development.

From her caregivers:   "Katya is a very developed and smart little girl. She has developed according to her age and is not different from children her age, sometimes smarter than healthy kids in her group. She loves to draw, walks, runs, talks and takes care of herself. Workers love her. She has a sweet personality and her only special needs is the head malformation".

Diana

Girl, Born March 2, 2004

SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!

Little Diana is living on borrowed time.  She recently "celebrated" her 4th birthday, but in an Eastern European orphanage, that is nothing to celebrate.   Miss Diana was born with severe Cerebral Palsy, and will likely not survive her transfer to the institution.  She is blessed to still be in the baby house.

One of our own adoptive families who visited with her in March 2008 shared this with us about Diana:  " This child has several medical problems and was described to me as “difficult” although it is based only on her diagnosis.  She has Cerebral Palsy and is fed via tube.  She spends her days tucked in a crib without any stimulation other than feedings and occasional diaper changes.  Her crib is situated where she cannot even see the other children in the room, just the side of a table through her crib bars.  I was asked whether or not I even wanted her picture but there is no way I could leave without it.  I hope that her forever family is looking for her right now!"

We are so prayerful that there is a forever family out there for every single one of the children we share here at Reece's Rainbow...and maybe even one for little Diana.   Is it you?

Vicky

Girl, Born May 31, 2005

SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!

Vicky is the cutest little girl!  She has strawberry blonde hair and giant blue eyes.  She benefits from living in a small orphanage with loving staff and a caring director.    Her delays are likely caused by prenatal drug use, but there is nothing in her records mentioning this.

One of our adoptive families who visited with Vicky in November 2008 said this:  "

I was blown away by beautiful Vicki! She was very healthy looking - not too thin like other children in her group.   She was very well behaved and responded well when I told her that she was a pretty girl (in Russian).  She's a lovely girl. She will blossom in a family!"

A missionary who visited there recently noted about Vicky:   "Vicky is a very shy and quiet little girl, but, even though she was a bit wary of the strangers taking her pictures, she was quick to flash us her beautiful smile.   She does not speak at this time.  She is very sweet, loving, calm little girl.  Vicky resides in a special needs orphanage but is not in the special needs room.   She has been diagnosed with severe developmental delays, but seemed to interact well with her care givers and the other children in her group."

According to the orphanage director, Vicky is significantly delayed and will need a very special, patient, experienced family.   She is high functioning physically, and a very social and happy little girl.

Vicky is facing the institution in May of 2009.  PLEASE save her from this fate.

Deena

Girl, Born April 6, 2005

SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!

Diagnosed with mental retardation, most likely FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome)

Diana is a beautiful little girl with dark hair and brown eyes.   She benefits from living in a small orphanage with loving staff and a caring director.   A missionary who visited there recently noted about Diana:   "Diana was very shy during our visit with her groupa, but she was very alert and observant and was always following us with her eyes. She resides in an orphanage for children with special needs but is not in the special needs room which suggests that she is able to feed herself, is possibly potty trained (or in the process of potty training as they train the children very early) and is able to play independently. She is able to walk and, although we did not hear her talk, she was not reported to be nonverbal. While Diana is developmentally behind for her age, with the love and attention of a family she will likely blossom!

If you are unfamiliar with FAS, please spend some time researching this condition.  Just as with Down syndrome, FAS and FAE have a wide variation of effects on each child, both medically, physically, and cognitively.   This is typically dependent on how long during the pregnancy the mother consumed alcohol, and of course, how much.   There is no way to know this ahead of time.

Nadya

Girl, Born February 26, 2003

SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!

Nadya needs a family!   This beautiful little girl is not living the life she should be.  :(   Nadya has brown hair and beautiful blue eyes.  Caretakers describe her as a really nice girl, has good, adequate reaction when people are talking to her, she is friendly, she speaks, she walks independently.  She is also potty trained.  Her medical records indicate mental retardation, but there is no specific diagnosis or cause for this cognitive delay.  It could be totally institutional.    She does not have any other noted health complications.   She is a beautiful flower ready to blossom in a loving family environment.

Nadya's biological mother died in February 2005, and the biological father was never known.  She is legally available for adoption NOW.  Nadya is already living in an institution, so we need a family for her right away!

Tori

Girl, Born October 14, 2005

CP and Spina Bifida

This little angel can just light up a room with her smile and her giggle.   She is constantly happy, very alert and playful, and is an orphanage favorite.   We are waiting for some new photos of her, but she is registered and available to be adopted now!   She is almost 3 now, so will be living on borrowed time before she turns 4.   Children from this orphanage are sent to the institution promptly on their birth date, so we are working hard to prevent that for this little sunshine.    She will be bedridden for her short life if she is transferred.  Please consider rescuing Miss Tori!

Regrettably, this orphanage is one of the poorer ones, with very little outside aid and very little hope.    All of the children are tiny and undernourished.  These children are immediately transferred at 4, and have little chance of survival where they are sent.  All of our waiting children need families, but these have a critical need.  Please consider one of these children soon!!
