China is one of the most restrictive programs in operation today. They are quite particular about who they feel qualifies to parent a child of Chinese heritage (as you can see from the requirements listed above). However, with their new database of waiting children with special needs, we are so glad to see a recognition of the needs of those kids and that they see a desire from American families to adopt them.
Our agency partner in China is Chinese Children Adoption International. CCAI is honored to have served more than seven hundred and fifty families who wished to adopt children with special needs through the Waiting Child Program. Adopting a child through the Waiting Child Program takes a special family with extra determination, commitment, and love to give. However, as our references would love to tell you, adopting a special needs or older child is a source of joy beyond description.

Harry Boy, Born May 2005 Harry is a darling, HEALTHY little boy who is still waiting for his forever family. Adoptions of children with Down syndrome from China are very rare. Reece's Rainbow is honored to partner with several agencies who can help you adopt these beautiful children from this beautiful country. As an infant, Harry loved to be cuddled. He fought off the walking, but his caregivers and therapists are working hard with him to encourage him to stand on his own. He is still not walking yet, but with a loving, supportive family and therapy, Harry will be running circles around you in no time! Please give Harry a chance to grow up with a loving family!

Francesca Girl, Born July 29, 2003 China This beautiful little girl is another historic opportunity to adopt a child with Down syndrome from China. Her name is Francesca*. She is just STUNNING, with a glowing smile that can light up a room. She was abandoned when she was 3 years old, but has done well adjusting to her new home and is now waiting on her "forever family". She understands most things, brushes her own teeth, counts to 10, and loves talking to people. She is described as sweet natured, active, happy and curious. We are waiting on more of her social history to be translated and sent to us, but we know she was abandoned when she was 3 years old. She loves to play outside and gets along with other children. Her sweet smiles will brighten your day. She appears to be good at listening to her caregivers and following simple directions. Her physical notes minor issues but no complications with her heart. We are hoping she can find a loving family who meets the adoption requirements of the country and who can provide this child with a life full of love and tenderness.
