Our Baby Boys in Russia

Russia seems to have a very high number of children with Down syndrome waiting to be adopted.    We have children listed here from various regions in Russia.  Additional medical info and photos can be obtained early in the process with an inquiry letter (submitted by the agency on your behalf).

These children face institutionalization at the age of 5, and are no longer eligible to be adopted once they are sent away.  All of our children in Russia are considered HIGH RISK.  Please consider choosing one of these angels!

Stepan Boy, Born March, 2006 Russia Look at our darling Stepan!   Blonde hair and a pouty face, he is just too cute!   He has been in the baby house since he was 18 months old.   We do not know why he stayed with his parents so long, but it is possible his birth family tried to keep him and then realized it was just too much.  :(   There is no record of abuse. Elliott Boy, Born June 2006 Russia Ilya is just as cute as they come!  He has blonde hair and brown eyes.   He has been in the orphanage since he was 1 month old.   He is just darling!  Ilya does have an open oval window  of 2.4 mm, and will need to see a cardiologist when he gets home.   He also has some extra intestine and trabeculae of the left intestine.  He is an orphanage favorite, and is described as very affectionate, communicative, and enjoys playing and being with other children.   He is making good progress!  He is actively babbling and trying to imitate adults.  He responds ot his name.   He knows when you are happy and when you are upset with him.   He has been sitting on his own since 12 months, tries to stand up on his knees, and is actively crawling (as of Feb 2008). Kirill #4 Boy, Born May 1, 2006 Russia Kirill is a very special little boy.  He is being given one chance to find a family.  Placing him can mean the full referrals of many other children with Down syndrome waiting in this far western region of Russia (close to the border with Europe). Kirill is 2 years old....his mother was very young when he was born, and she simply was not able to care for him.   The truth is that there is no place for him in this society...she wasn't really given a choice but to give him up.   Kirill is HEALTHY, with platinum blonde hair and blue eyes.  He is a very tender and affectionate little boy.  He recognizes his caretakers and reacts to them calling his name.  He crawls and walks with assistance and eats from a spoon.  He is doing very very well considering his environment, and will really benefit from early intervention services here with his new family! Eli Born 2004 This child is absolutely gorgeous!    Healthy as far as the agency knows.  Very strong child, this photo was taken before Eli was 1 year old.    Likely walking by now, self feeding and a joy to be around.  Handsome and a precious addition to any family.  Eli is currently living in Russia.  He is in a region which is very beautiful, with a lot of incredible history and is a very special place to visit.  It is also very modern, with many Western conveniences and luxuries.   Adopting Eli would not only save him from a mental institution, but could also be a romantic vacation opportunity for Mom and Dad! Russia's mental institutions are CLOSED FACILITIES.  This means that once a child reaches the age of 4 and is transferred, they are no longer eligible to be adopted.  These children in Russia are facing a crisis situation.  Please open your hearts and consider adopting any of these little ones....they deserve a loving family like yours.
