Naomi (#29) (child's name has been changed to protect their identity) Girl, Born May 8, 2002 Bulgaria Miss Naomi was born via C-section with club feet and intervalvular defect II degree in her heart. SHE HAS HAD SURGERY AND IS NOW UP AND WALKING!! Recently, one of our families adopted a little boy with DS and clubbed feet from Ukraine. They wanted to share this message with potential adoptive families in the hopes it will help Naomi find a loving family of her own!
"As soon
as I saw that Naomi has clubbed feet, my heart skipped a
beat. I pray that there is a family out there who will
take the leap of faith to bring home a child with Ds AND
clubbed feet. Xander has been such a blessing to our
family and the journey that we are still traveling to
help him overcome the obstacles of unrepaired clubbed
feet, while stressful at times, has added to the
blessings and the testimony of our adoption and his
life. If anyone
out there is thinking about taking a chance on this
little girl, please know that I have become quite the
expert on clubbed feet and Ds.....and I'm always happy
to talk honestly with anyone about our ongoing
experience."

Anastasiya (# 20) (child's name has been changed to protect their identity) Girl, Born 2003 Bulgaria My name means "Resurrection" This precious little girl really needs a family to help her get through some of her medical complications, and to provide the therapy she needs to be all she can! At 4 1/2 years, she is still not walking...few self help skills, although she is making sounds. Not only does Anastasiya have Down syndrome, she also has hydrocephaly, which have impacted her with cystic formations in the right hemisphere, several smaller in the left one, and widened brain ventricles. She has struggled with several bouts of pneumonia and upper respiratory infections. We can't help but wonder what a difference it would make in her life and her level of functioning if she had a loving family to help her! Regrettably, photos will not be available prior to dossier submission, however full medical information is available prior to commitment. The lack of photos makes it so much harder for these children to find families, so we ask you to take a leap of faith to pioneer this program, and make it as successful as our other Eastern European programs have been!

Graham (#30) Boy, Born January 16, 2006 Bulgaria Graham is such a high functioning, happy little love bug! He was born with a functional heart murmur, but he has grown and developed so well despite his environment! At 18 months of age, he was able to straighten up by holding on to a support and makes steps when up. He can walk when holding on to hands. He is crawling well, loves to play with toys, and especially loves looking at himself in the mirror! Graham is emotional in his contacts with the adults. He distinguishes strangers from known people. He is happy when praised with “bravo”. He doesn't like the word "NO" so much! He laughs loud and teases. He approaches with trust and curiosity in his contacts with children and adults. Graham has established emotional connection with an adult and demonstrates expectations from her. He experiences emotionally the separation after individual activities. Little Graham pronounces prolonged combinations of sounds and syllables when imitating adults. He eats with good appetite. When awake he is active and always finds something to attract his attention to. He seeks contact with the adults and the children – teases with them, tries to take away toys left to some distance from him. He carries out social gestures – gives his hand for “hello”, does pick-a-boo. He looks in the mirror with interest. He enjoys his image, touches it and smiles. Graham is still young enough that he will really benefit from a family environment and early intervention therapy!
